Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S Tire Review
Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S tires are designed to satisfy the needs of drivers who want both on and off road
capabilities of their tires, without having to sacrifice ride quality or a reduced tread life. With advanced design
features built into the silica enhanced tread, to go with a 50,000 mile tread life, this tire tackles all types of
roads, as well as weather conditions.
The Geolandar ATS sports a symmetrical tread pattern and uniquely shaped shoulder blocks to go with larger tread
blocks. They combine to give the tire better handling and stability on the highway, as well as improved off road
traction for those times you want to get out and have some fun. Multi-stepped grooves and a dual sipe design give
this Yokohama tire increased traction to go through everything from loose gravel to wet or winter weather road
conditions with a lower risk of hydroplaning or control.
Something else that Yokohama has done to enhance stability and give the tire more bite is to include sidewall
protectors closer to the shoulders of the tire. This also aids in reducing the potential from damaging the tire
sidewall from curbs, large rocks, etc.
Inside the tire you’ll find twin steel belts that nylon wrapped for added strength and stability at higher
speeds, as well as a longer treadlife.
Overall, it’s easy to see why the Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S has become so popular. It has the features for on or
off road driving that owners of SUV’s, pickup trucks and Jeeps are seeking, yet still provides excellent ride
comfort and a longer tread life.
