Yokohama Advan S.4 Tire Review

The Yokohama Advan S.4 tire offers up some of the best handling and performance that can be found in an all-season tire. That's a pretty bold statement, but believe us, Yokohama Tires backs it up.

With a directional tread pattern and silica compound, the Advan S4 includes everything you would expect from a high performance tire. Reinforced shoulder tread blocks that are larger in size and staggered around the tire make for a much stronger shoulder area which means enhanced cornering power better overall handling.

On wet roads you can expect excellent traction and a lower risk of hydroplaning due to the three circumferential grooves and added sipes around the tread. Unique "Aqua Cut Tusk Grooves" are designed to evacuate even more water from under the tire.

Inside the tread you'll find twin steel belts that are reinforced with a jointless nylon ply that gives this Yokohama tire more strength and stability at higher road speeds. Variable Pitch Technology, along with Stress Control Waves, eliminate most road noise and make for more even tire wear. The result is more comfort and a longer lasting tire. Overall, the Yokohama S4 is one of our favorite high performance all-season tires on the market today. Pros

Warranty

Yokohama tires does not warrant the Advan S.4 as far as tread life mileage. It does however provide a uniformity guarantee for the first 2/32 inch of tread wear.

Materials and workmanship are guaranteed for 5 years with free tire replacement during the first year or first 2/32 inch of tread wear. The remaining period is prorated down to the final 2/32 inch of useable tread life.
