Sams Club Tires - Are They For You?
We know a lot of people shop for new tires at Sams Club Tires, but there are also a lot of car and truck owners
who may be wondering what to expect when you go there to purchase tires. What brands of tires do they sell? What
kind of services do they provide? What should you know before you go? Here's a look at what to expect and what you
should know when shopping for Sams Club Tires.
Sams Club Tires Installation Service
Buying tires at Sam's Club is pretty straightforward. You can select brand name tires from the likes of
Michelin, BFGoodrich, Goodyear and Dunlop. They carry various models from any of these manufacturers to fit your
car, truck, minivan, crossover, etc.
One thing to keep in mind is that you can't call and set up an appointment to have your tires installed. They
operate on a first come, first serve basis. The best tip here is to obviously avoid the weekends, and go during the
week when they first open up. If you don't you may find yourself waiting for a few hours. In some cases you might
get right in, but in others you may see a 3 hour wait. We've heard plenty of stories from those who have been
caught up in long waits.
At the moment, Sams Club charges $15 per tire for their premium install service. There's also a small fee for
tire disposal as well. Note that if you own a duallie or motor home, installation will run a few extra dollars per
tire more.
What's Included In Sams Club Tires Install Service?
The installation package includes the standard items such as new tire mounting, valve stems and balancing. But
there is also more to the package.
Sam's Club also includes lifetime flat repair for any of your tires you purchase the package for. As long as the
tire still has at least 2/32 inch of useable tread you can get it repaired at no charge.
You'll also find a lifetime tire rotation and lifetime tire balancing with the package as well. There is also a
tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) reset available. Again, this comes at no cost as long as you still have 2/32
inch of useable tread. A road hazard warranty is part of the package and this may come in handy for some drivers
who have a tire failure out on the road.
One thing about the road hazard warranty, and everything in the install package for that matter, is to be sure
and read the terms and conditions before purchasing. Be informed and know upfront what to expect before you
buy.
Finally, we have heard from some tire buyers that your lifetime tire package is only good while you remain a
member of Sam's Club. If you cancel, you lose your tire benefits. That doesn't seem to be customer friendly, but it
certainly encourages continuing your membership. Sams Club Tires definitely fills a need for people wanting to buy
new tires, but you'll have to decide for yourself if they are your best choice or not.
