Nitto Mud Grappler Tire Review
True off-roading trucks need extreme tires that won't let you down. The Nitto Mud Grappler tire is one tire that
takes on impossible looking terrains, and handles them as good as any tire in its class.
The first thing you notice about the Mud Grappler is that it has a distinct look that makes it unique from other
off-roading tires. The tread has been designed especially for extreme off-roading, yet it can still be driven down
the highway as well. The massive sidewall offers excellent puncture resistance when facing challenging obstacles
and huge rocks in your path. Large 15 mm lugs on the sidewall give added traction and rock climbing support.

The Mud Grappler has specially designed side grooves that provide high resistance to any lateral slippage. It
has a thick siping that makes it possible for the tire to grip snow and ice much easier.
Nitto has given the option of customizing your tires with two unique sidewall designs, and you can choose which
one you want to face outwards. It has a unique aggressive tread design which looks like a raptor claw. The Mud
Grappler has a high void ratio for excellent clearing of mud and dirt and great performance on slush and mud making
it a perfect off-roading tire. In fact, it has exceptional traction when it comes to off-roading since it is
adorned with huge lugs which can grip any extreme surface.
The Nitto Mud Grappler is known to be very stable on the highway, even at higher speeds. It provides good grip
and cornering capabilities mainly due to the presence of two spiral wound nylon cap plies on the tire. Two full
width steel belts optimize the contact patch for all surfaces. The strong sidewall has three plies of polyester
reinforcement in addition to the existing huge lugs. The result is increased durability and a longer tread life.
The three-ply polyester casing further improves traction and steering response.
Overall, the Nitto Mud Grappler provides some of the best off road grip of any tire on the market. You will be
hard pressed to find any terrain that you cannot navigate on this tire. Beyond that though, it still can be driven
down the highway as well. Yes, you get a lot of tire noise on the highway, but it rides smooth for a mud tire and
tread wears evenly.
