Nitto Dura Grappler Tire Review
Finding a tire that provides good year round all-terrain performance can be tough at times, but that's not the
case with the Nitto Dura Grappler. In fact you'll find this is a tire that not only drives well on the highway, but
takes you through any type of terrain you need to travel through.
Nitto has incorporated its Dura-Belt Technology which consists of three belts in the tire, which means it can
withstand the rigors of heavy duty and towing use. It reinforces the tread and thereby provides supreme comfort and
goes a long way in reducing irregular wear, which also improves tread life. There is less heat buildup and tread
wear is reduced. Nitto has given the name Dura to the tire with a valid reason, that of durability indicating that
it is a tire that will last well.
The Dura Grappler sports a multi rib pattern that cuts out noise and makes the ride smoother, aside from
enhancing tread life. You'll find it is less noisy than other tires in its class, something that everyone can
appreciate. The strong shoulder facilitates stability even at higher speeds due to the solid support that it
provides the tires.

Nitto offers the option of two unique sidewall designs to choose from. This allows you to customize the look of
the tire to a degree. A closer look at the tire will reveal ridges between the tread blocks which serve to provide
stability to the tire, so that you can attain high speeds without any worry. The other function of the ridges is to
reduce irregular tread wear on the tire further enhancing the life of the tire.
Once you examine the tire more closely you will see thin sipes cutting across the surface of the treads. These
sipes help the tire to cut through water and provide additional traction in the rain. Nitto provides a four rib
design on the LT metrics and five rib design on the P-Metric sizes. The multi rib pattern further improves the
smooth and quiet ride on the Dura Grappler.
Something else we've noticed with the Nitto Dura Grappler is the lower rolling resistance of the tire. This of
course aids in better fuel economy and more mileage.
Overall, the Nitto Dura Grappler is a solid choice in tires for highway or all-terrain use. With good traction,
handling and comfort to go along with an excellent tread life warranty, Nitto has produced a very nice tire.
